Equellness Kids AfterSchool
Afterschool At Equellness
A calming, nature-centered after-school program, for 7-12 year olds, that supports emotional wellbeing and mental fitness through horsemanship, riding, mindfulness, and life skills learning.
Growing Through Horses and Nature
Equellness Kids offers children ages 7-12 a welcoming after school experience where horses and nature support growth, connection, and belief-in-self. Through horsemanship, riding, and outdoor exploration, children are invited to slow down, participate fully, and discover their strengths in a supportive community.
A Whole Child Experience
Through structured activities and meaningful interactions with horses, children build emotional regulation, belief in self, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Each session supports mental fitness and personal growth in a supportive, judgment-free environment.
Children participate in purposeful, hands on experiences such as:
Caring for horses through grooming and barn routines
Cooperative outdoor games and exploration
Creative play that invites curiosity and presence
We incorporate evidence based curriculums such as the CASEL framework and Dr. Bruce Smith’s Positive Psychology manual:
Emphasizes strengths
Fosters a growth mindset
Encourages a sense of accomplishment
Our Approach
Equellness Kids blends horsemanship, movement, and nature based experiences in a calm and engaging environment. Horses serve as steady partners, helping children practice awareness, communication, and connection in real time. Each child is met where they are and supported at their own pace.
Life Skills
Through connection with horses and nature, children practice skills that support growth for life. Each experience invites awareness, steady focus, healthy connection, and thoughtful action.
Horsemanship
Children build strong foundations in horsemanship through caring for and working alongside horses. These experiences encourage focus, responsibility, clear communication, and respect for living beings, skills that extend well beyond the barn.
Horseback Riding
Through guided riding experiences, children develop balance, coordination, and confidence in motion. Riding becomes a space for focus, joy, and trust, supporting belief in self through embodied learning.
