Recovery Program
Toolbox For Recovery Mission
At Toolbox for Recovery, we believe in the power of belonging and the profound healing that can be achieved within a supportive community of practice. Our mission is to foster wellness through innovative programs that harness the healing power of horses.
We offer a safe, inclusive space where participants can build resilience, develop emotional regulation, and gain deeper self-awareness on their path to recovery. Our team, composed of individuals who live a life of recovery and have extensive professional experience in the mental health and substance abuse field, provides unique insight into the challenges and needs of this journey.
Our Approach
Toolbox for Recovery blends equine-assisted activities, mindfulness practices, and psychoeducational tools to empower individuals in their recovery. This hands-on approach provides clients with strategies to manage stress and develop vital life skills; creating opportunities for lasting personal growth and sobriety.
By offering a space where these skills are practiced with horses, mindfulness, and psychoeducation, we help participants bridge the gap between recovery concepts and real-life application.

Equine-Assisted Services
Our equine-assisted services offer a powerful experiential process, where highly attuned horses provide a safe and nurturing environment for clients in recovery. With their natural sensitivity, horses offer instant feedback, helping individuals discover their own answers and enhance self-awareness. This unique approach fosters the development of genuine, connected relationships, creating a supportive space for building personal growth and self-regulation throughout the healing journey.
Mindfullness
Mindfulness-based processes empower individuals to develop new insights, emotional regulation, and resilience. Through mindfulness practices, clients learn to stay present, manage stress, and cultivate a deeper connection with themselves. These techniques not only enhance emotional awareness but also provide practical tools for navigating life’s challenges with clarity and focus. Break free from reactive patterns, foster inner peace, and strengthen the ability to cope with adversity.
Emotional Regulation
Practical tools are taught and practiced to enhance self-regulation, somatic awareness, and mental fitness. These techniques empower individuals to manage their emotions effectively and develop a deeper understanding of their body’s responses to stress and triggers. Over time, this consistent practice builds inner strength, promotes emotional balance, and fosters resilience, supporting overall mental wellness and enhancing one’s ability to thrive in everyday life and beyond.
Psychoeducational Themes
Participants will engage in topics such as: Somatic awareness, Mindfulness practices, Boundary setting, Healthy communication skills, Positive psychology, Social-Emotional Awareness. Through a combination of experiential practices and group learning, our program fosters transformation by connecting individuals with a healthy, supportive community of practice.
